Recorded
in 1995, With One Voice features songs by some of the original FW writers,
as well as a song (You are the best) written by children (with the able
assistance of Tim Moyler). There's a great song (Waterfall) by the youth-oriented
band, Brown Bear Music (see the Writers page to find out more about
them). Often teenagers and young adults feel excluded to an extent from
all-age services, because the worship can seem too child-oriented for
their contemporary tastes. By including songs, like Waterfall, that
are more to their liking, it's making a statement that everyone is valued
and included.
If you like mellow, yet passionate vocals, make sure you check out Dave Morris singing "A time to mourn". Also featured is a song, "Lord we cry out to you", jointly written by Wes Sutton and Ken McGreavy - both in leadership with Ichthus Christian Fellowship - and the song has a real prophetic edge Downloads
Song Permissions: You may freely use the songs and make photocopies as required (lyrics and sheet music) for use in worship; we do encourage churches to subscribe to the Church Copyright Licence Scheme and report your usage of the songs via the annual return. FW2 ReviewsCross Rhythms8 out of 10 - very good indeed. "The second Family Worship concept album from Ichthus offers a varied smattering of musical styles on one album. It's good to hear songs that reflect something of human suffering and sorrow as well as the usual songs of triumph that we get bombarded with, and Dave Morris delivers "A time to mourn" (based on texts from Ecclesiastes) with plenty of passion. Some cool and catchy numbers like "You are the best" give the kids a chance to join in the fun (it's okay to say "fun" when we're talking about worship isn't it?). A family concept is a very difficult thing to come up with, mainly because some songs just don't sound as if they would work right through the age ranges...Ichthus are trying to break new ground in this field and are doing well, with tapes and resource books. With songs from the likes of Judy Bailey and Mike Burn this whole series is well worth taking a look at. Well done Ichthus - this is a mile better than most of the stuff that lands through my door!" Children's Ministry"This is a bright, well-presented songbook from the Ichthus stable. The songs are clearly laid out in A4 format and the book is attractive and easy to handle, with a good cover. The concept is brilliant - a songbook to facilitate all-age congregational use of new material. There is a much fuller musical score than is usually available with books of this type. This will immediately be appreciated by keyboard players, although the chords are also clearly marked out for the benefit of guitarists. Having acetate masters ready to photocopy and use is an excellent idea and adds immediate professionalism on a Sunday morning! Overall an excellent product for worship leaders wanting to break the mould and introduce something new for all ages in the local church family" Renewal"With One Voice is a welcome second recording following on from Let Praise Break Out. The songs have been written to provide material that is acceptable to both children and adults, enabling them to worship together. This is a novel concept for many churches which struggle to keep the kids' attention for a few songs before getting on with the 'proper worship'. This album has some great songs - one written by children - and ranges from the powerful 'Waterfall' (Brown Bear Music) to the fun 'Let's get fit' (Kath Fathers). I found the children's bible readings particularly moving. Now you've no excuse - buy the tape and have a go!"
